Why nasal congestion is p.m.-only: the nighttime formula adds phenylephrine, a decongestant. It's there because nasal congestion gets worse when lying down — the timing matches when you'll feel it most.

How to take it.

Always read the Drug Facts panel on the package before use. Adults and children 12 years and over.

Pick the right time of day
Use a.m. during the day for non-drowsy relief. Use p.m. before bed to add congestion relief and rest through the night.

Take with water
Swallow soft gels whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the capsules. Can be taken with or without food.

Follow the label dose
Refer to the dosing instructions on each carton. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose listed on the package.

Stop after 7 days
Do not use for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. If symptoms persist or worsen, see a healthcare professional.

Before you take it.

  • Liver warning. Contains acetaminophen. Severe liver damage may occur if more than the maximum daily amount is taken, with other drugs containing acetaminophen, or with 3+ alcoholic drinks per day.
  • Do not use with any other product containing acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, phenylephrine, or other cold and flu medications without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not use if currently taking a prescription MAOI (for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease) or for two weeks after stopping. Ask a pharmacist if unsure.
  • Ask a doctor before use if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, liver disease, or trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate.
  • If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use.
  • Children under 12 — ask a doctor.
  • Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, contact a Poison Control Center right away (1-800-222-1222).
